Is riding in a chariot for an occasion or fun wrong if the horses are well kept and treated kindly?

Some people felt that using another person or animal to carry one is not humanitarian and palanquins are wrong, etc.. Chariots are fun and they look so beautiful, and the horses look so lovely. Of course the horses usually are lavished much more attention and care than the occasional rider of the chariot ever gets, so there is generally no animal abuse here. What is wrong with riding on these? I think more brides and bridegrooms should ride the chariot to get to the marriage hall like I saw last week.. It was a wonderful thing and made a very positive impact on me... Sure there were other romantic souls who would have felt the same..But then there are some who wait around only to criticize. Some say that was a bit too prideful and was not down to earth and humanistic.. I felt the ride showed something novel as opposed to only the bride groom making a public round of the city before the wedding. The event also supported my most favorite hobby of lobbying for earth-environmental friendly activities...
