For anyone who has been to the riviera maya (mexico) within the past couple of weeks or is currently there...?

My fiance and I are planning on going to the riveria maya (mexico) in a 3 weeks and we would like to know from people who have just come back from there or people who are currently there as to what the weather is like. we have heard that july is the rainy season, and we would like to know how bad it is so we can pack accordingly. Any help would be very much appreciated.
